    Alice survived the Civil war 1642 to 1651 because her husband Edward, a son of Sione Llyws, was a parliment officer, and after the parliment victory, he was appointed High Sheriff of Monmounthshire.

    Family/Spouse: Kemeys, Edward. Edward was born in 1620 in Monmouth, Wales.

    NOTES FROM STEPHEN GREGORY "STEVE" LUKE (1947-2002):
    Supported the Royalist cause during the Civil war. As a member of the landed gentry, he had a high station in society because of the land he owned rather than any hereditary title. As the Royalists lost the war he was deprived of his land. In 1660 the son of the king seized power and returned a small portion of the confiscated lands.
